Nanog
Purification and Quality Control
The His-tag recombinant protein is purified by affinity chromatography in combination with FPLC columns. The purified Nanog is refolded from inclusion body. It’s purity is greater than 95% homogeneous based on SDS-PAGE analysis.
Applications
May be used for stem cell related research. For Research use only.
Formulation and Storage
The protein is in 20mM Tris-HCl pH7.9,100mM NaCl, 0.2mM EDTA, 1mM DTT and 20% glycerol. Stored at -70°C before use. Avoid repeated freeze thaw cycles.
Synonym
Homo sapiens Nanog homeobox (NANOG), homeobox transcription factor Nanog-delta 48; hNanog.

Background
NANOG is a transcription factor critically involved with self-renewal of undifferentiated embryonic stem cells. Human NANOG protein is a 305 amino acid protein with a conserved homeodomain motif that is localized to the nuclear component of cells. The homeodomain
region facilitates DNA binding.NANOG is thought to function in concert with other factors such as POU5F1 and SOX2 to establish ESC identity. These cells offer an important area of study because of their ability to maintain pluripotency. Nanog is one of the stem cell marker or pluripotency markers.
