α-p53 is an affinity-purified rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against the recombinant p53 protein.
p53 was identified as a tumor suppressor by blocking the transformation and inhibiting tumor cell growth. In addition, this protein is a transcription factor capable of regulating the expression of a subset of downstream genes (1-5). Different mutations in p53 gene have been characterized in a variety of human cancers (6, 7). Loss or mutation of p53 function is highly correlated with tumorigenesis.
Each vial contains 100 μg IgG in 0.1 ml of PBS.
Specificity
α-p53 reacts with the p53 protein in HeLa nuclear extract by Western Blotting. Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis: 1:2000-1:5000. Recommended starting dilution: 1:2000.
Storage
Aliquot and store at –20°C.
