Product Details

Recombinant human TAF7 was purified from a bacterial system. TAF7 gene access number is NM_005642. N11003 contains 10ug.

The transcription factor TFIID components TAF7 and TAF1 regulate eukaryotic transcription initiation. TAF7 regulates transcription initiation of TAF1-dependent genes by binding to the acetyltransferase (AT) domain of TAF1 and inhibiting the enzymatic activity that is essential for transcription. TAF7 is released from the TAF1-TFIID complex upon completion of preinitiation complex assembly, allowing transcription to initiate (2).

The intronless gene for this transcription coactivator is located between the protocadherin beta and gamma gene clusters on chromosome 5(3).

Human TAF7 (formerly TAFII55), physically interacts with DNA-bound phosphorylated c-Jun, suggesting that TAF7 represents a novel c-Jun co-activator mediating activation of AP-1 target genes in response to extracellular signals (1).

Source

Recombinant His tagged TAF7 was isolated from an E. coli strain that carries the coding sequence of the Homo sapiens TAF7 RNA polymerase II, TATA box binding protein (TBP)-associated factor, 55kDa (TAF7), under the control of a T7 promoter. His and MBP tags were fused to the N terminal of this protein. After removing MBP tag by protease, TAF7 were further purified. Final TAF7 molecular weight is 55kD.

Applications

TAF7 can be applied to in vitro transcription assays and protein-protein interactions assays. For Research Use Only.

The purified protein is greater than 90% homogeneous based on SDS-PAGE gel analysis.
