α-TBP antibody is a rabbit polyclonal antibody raised against a recombinant full-length TATA binding protein.
The TATA-binding protein (TBP) is believed to function as an essential factor of the general transcription machinery and to be involved in transcription by all three eukaryotic RNA polymerases (pol I, II, and III). TBP specifically binds to TATA element at the promoter region and interacts with numerous transcription factors, including TBP-associated factors (TAFs), activators, and some tumor suppressor proteins (1-3).
Each vial contains 200 μl of anti-serum.
Specificity
α-TBP reacts with the TBP protein in HeLa nuclear extract by Western Blotting. Recommended dilution range for Western blot analysis: 1:5,000 -1:10,000. Recommended starting dilution: 1:10,000.
Storage
Aliquot and store at –20°C.
